Take Part

At the National Schools Symphony Orchestra, we work hard to support players and their parents in achieving the most out of our youth musical talents. Courses are offered to children aged 8-17, of grade 3 standard and above however, musical talent is the only real test for joining our orchestra and grading examinations are not compulsory.

If you’re ready for the next steps and would like to join the National School Symphony Orchestra, you’ll find all the information you need to know on how to apply, below.

 

New Members

We welcome new members to join our community of young musicians to deepen their education, collaborate with likeminded musicians and progress their music making for future opportunities to come.

To take part, the process is as follows:

  1. Enrol using our online application form
  2. Pay your deposit (as indicated at the end of the application form)
  3. Submit your Audition

After this, our team will review entries and will contact you within 10 working days of audition submissions to confirm your place. Final balances will be due by 11th June 2021.

 

Existing Members

For July 2021 courses, existing NSSO members do not need to re-audition. Future courses however will require the full application process to be followed, as for new members.

After this, our team will review entries and will contact you within 10 working days of audition submissions to confirm your place. Final balances will be due by 11th June 2021.

 

All pupils signed up before 31st December 2020 will be contacted to discuss summer 2021 course changes. If you have not been contacted already, please rest assured we will be in touch.
